From the Garage to Graduation: Celebrating Walter’s Journey at Toyota of Corvallis

At Toyota of Corvallis, we’re proud to highlight the incredible journey of one of our very own—Walter, a talented and driven technician who recently graduated from Linn-Benton Community College (LBCC) with a degree in Automotive Technology.

Walter’s passion for the automotive world started early, working side by side with his father. Those hands-on experiences sparked a love for vehicles and inspired him to pursue formal education in the field. It wasn’t just about turning wrenches—it was about understanding how things work, how they break, and most importantly, how to fix them.

Throughout his time at LBCC, Walter also worked here at Toyota of Corvallis, balancing school and work with determination and grit. He quickly became a reliable and hardworking member of our team, always stepping up to learn more and contribute wherever he could.

Walter especially enjoys engine repair and R&R (remove and replace)—the process of bringing a vehicle back to life. For him, there’s something incredibly rewarding about diagnosing a problem, getting to the root of it, and knowing the fix came from his own two hands.

When asked about his favorite tools, Walter lights up talking about diagnostic equipment. He describes it like being a detective. You have to connect the dots, interpret the signs, and figure out the story the car is trying to tell you. That curiosity and problem-solving mindset make him a standout technician.

To students considering a career in automotive, Walter offers wise advice:
“Consider all your options before you commit. Figure out what really makes you happy and go after it.”
