If you take a look at cars going by on the road, you are bound to notice that the roads have been almost overtaken by compact crossover SUVs. This smaller format of SUV has become so dominant that the RAV4 has gone from being just another car in the Toyota lineup to being one of the most popular vehicles. Since the RAV4 has been around for longer than much of its competition, it has a good sense of its own strengths, and has trim levels meant to work toward those strengths.
Depending on how you look at it, there are six trim levels of the 2020 Toyota RAV4. Not including hybrid variations on almost every trim, the trims range from the sensible LE, to the adventurous TRD Off-Road, to the luxurious Limited trim. The trims in between have their own configurations of features and technology, but not a single one is really lacking anything for the price. Use the chart below to get a feel for the trim that interests you most. The features mentioned below are available features that highlight the priorities of each trim.
LE |
Toyota Safety Senseâ„¢ 2.0 | Integrated Backup Camera and Projected Path |
XLE |
8-Way Power Driver Seat Adjustment | Smart Key Functionality and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert |
XLE Premium |
SofTex®-Trimmed Front Seats | Available Audio Plus with JBL® Speakers |
Adventure |
Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive (TV-AWD) | 7-Inch Digital Multi-Information Display |
TRD Off-Road |
TRD-Tuned Front Suspension and Stabilizer Bar | Power Liftgate with Jam Protection |
Limited |
19-Inch Chrome Alloy Wheels | Standard Premium Audio Package with JBL® Speakers and Smartphone Compatibility |
While the LE may be enough for plenty of other drivers, it is worth exploring the XLE and XLE Premium before settling on one of the lower trims. The classic Toyota and JBL® sound system partnership is one many people aren’t willing to go without, and it is only available on some of the trims. The Adventure and TRD Off-Road trims are the best for those who want to hit the trails after spending too much time on the pavement. Make no mistake though, the Limited trim is where the RAV4 truly shines, proving a compact crossover can still fit in plenty of premium features.
