The 2020 Toyota 4Runner is available in eight trim levels, which include the SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, the all-new Venture Special Edition, Limited, Nightshade Edition and TRD Pro. Each grade is equipped with different features that will help customize the vehicle to specific needs. For example, the TRD Pro provides outstanding off-road abilities, while the SR5 and SR5 Premium aren’t designed to focus primarily on off-road capabilities.

The 2020 4Runner has technology that helps it conquer intense terrain. For starters, 4WD with Active Traction Control that engages when the road is slippery or lacking traction, which is essential in icy and sandy conditions. Multi-terrain Select has four driver-select modes that customize the drive to the terrain the 4Runner is taking on. Another feature is CRAWL Control, which automatically modulates the 4Runner’s throttle and brakes.

After years of production, Toyota has determined which features are essential to thriving in off-road conditions. These include skid plates that protect the engine, fuel tank and other essential mechanical components. The 4Runner also has a standard full-size spare in case you get a flat while you’re hours into a trail and need your vehicle to perform at it’s best.
